I have a soft spot for phones that do not try to be thin and fragile. The Oukitel WP70 Ultra is the opposite of everything Apple stands for and I kind of love it.
Announced at IFA 2026, this thing packs a 16,000mAh battery. To put that in perspective: the iPhone 17 Pro Max has 5,088mAh. The Galaxy S26 Ultra hits 5,000mAh. The WP70 Ultra has more than triple either of them. And it is not just a battery brick — it also has a night vision camera and thermal imaging built in.
Oukitel says it is the slimmest 16,000mAh rugged smartphone, which is like being the shortest NBA player but still 16.4mm thick. That is a chunky phone by any standard, but when you are also wrapping it in a rugged outer shell meant to survive drops and water, it makes sense.
It uses a silicon-carbon battery to keep size down and charges at 66W, so at least it does not take three days to fill that massive cell.
I do not need a 16,000mAh phone. But I respect the existence of one. Not everything has to be a glass slab that needs a case and a prayer.

Compared to a typical smartphone, this battery capacity is even more impressive — the iPhone 17 Pro Max, for example, has a 5,088mAh battery.
